Commonedge Road, Blackpool was the venue for this Blackpool & Fylde Sunday Football Alliance Division 3 Cup quarter final between Trades & Social FC and FC Matrix the favourites. At 2-0 up Matrix had a corner late in the second half. Devereaux swung it in and a diving Matrix header was cleared off the line. Referee Ian Rose adjudged that the player had used his arm and awarded a penalty. As per the rules of the game the player received a red card. It was too much for the Trades' linesman who threw his flag to the floor and walked off. After the melee had finally settled Phil Ioannou stepped up to convert the penalty.
