The Newton High School football team hosts Arkansas City Friday, Oct. 23, 2009, at Fischer Field in Newton. The Railers won the game 47-7, improving to 7-1, 2-0 in district play and 4-1 in Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail League Division II play.
In 2009, Tri-Valley enjoyed one of the most successful seasons in school history by winning the Muskingum Valley League and advancing to the Division II OHSAA State Playoffs.

Former KU Jayhawks defensive end Paul Como has been working with Coach Potts of TopSpeed Strength & Conditioning to get ready for the University of Kansas NFL Pro Day. While only part-way through with his training, he has improved his scores across the board in each of the tests he will perform for the NFL scouts in attendance as he seeks to move to the next level at his more natural position of linebacker. In this video we see Paul testing his time in the 40 yard dash (improved -.11 from before) while also putting down a time of 4.16 (a -.18 improvement) in each direction of the pro-agility/short shuttle drill to go along with a stunning 7.06 in the 3-cone (L) drill.

With his training nearly complete, Paul has shown dramatic improvement across the board in each of the tests he will perform for the NFL scouts in attendance as he transitions back to linebacker at the next level. In this video we see Paul testing his time in the 40 yard dash (-.15 faster) while also showing off his improved time in the pro-agility/short shuttle drill (a blazing 4.07). Paul has also been timed as low as 6.88 in the 3-cone/L-drill. This video includes bonus footage of Paul as he strives to improve his technique in the long-shuttle run.
