1998 NCAA College World Series
USC opened the NCAA College World Series with 12-10 loss to two time defending national champion LSU. USC and LSU would play again in game 12, but this time USC would hold LSU to 4 runs while scoring 5. The two faced off one more time and again it would USC winning and advancing to the championship game against Arizona State. USC out hit the Sun Devils in a game that featured 9 home runs including a grand slam. The two would combine for 35 runs but it would be the Trojans with 21 of those runs, and their 12th NCAA College World Series title.
